Monastery of St. Gertrude

Monastery of St. Gertrude

The bright red 97-foot twin bell towers are clearly visible from Highway 95 as you cross the Camas Prairie.

The towers are home to the four bells used to call the monastic community to prayer three times each day.  The bells are named in honor of the Sacred Heart, St. Joseph, St. Gabriel and St. Michael.  The last two bells were given to the Benedictine Sisters by the monks of St. Michael's Monastery when it closed in 1925.
